I would give this 5/10 as it is truly average, but I’ve added one point for the good food and the lovely staff. Nothing* is more upsetting to me than an unloved cinema – don’t neglect your Hackney home, Picturehouse.
Is this the loveliest cinema in London? It’s definitely the best I’ve come across so far. It exudes so much charm and warmth that it’s enough to make you never even want to sniff near a vacuous Vue ever again.
I fully encourage you to relish in some old school film joy in this small but perfectly formed cinema in West London.
My unbreakable bond with the Odeon means that I’ll probably give this another chance, but hopefully not in the toilet smelling sushi eating screen that has hurt me so badly here.
You know those people that fall in love with objects and then get married to their cars or the pavement etc? Well that’s gonna be me and The Castle.
Look, they upset me with the bag thing and the seats are creepy – but for a clean, calm, pleasant viewing experience I couldn’t really fault it.
This is so one of those things where you don’t want to encourage too many people to go because it might ruin it.
This is a near perfect cinema experience, especially considering the price. Knocking one point off for their bumbled dealing with complaints, though luckily I have hardly any.
